Diana and Lyla woke up and went downstairs and met the rest of the group in the dining room. Breakfast was already out on the table.
Emilio: "Finally. We've been waiting for you guys."
Diana and Lyla joined the group at the table.
Emilio: "Jack finally agreed to let me swim to the mainland today."
Diana: "He did? That's great."
Jack: "I agreed as long as he's back before sunset."
Everyone finished their meal and helped Emilio get ready. They were excited and hopeful that they might find people to help them on the mainland. However, they were also nervous for Emilio.
Jack: "Don't forget to be back before sunset. Be smart. If you need to come back early, please do."
Emilio: "I'll be fine. Don't worry guys. I'll be back before you know it."
The group watched as Emilio dove into the waves and started swimming. They looked on with a sense of hope mixed with dread.
Fiona: "Well, we can't sit here and wait for him all day."
Jack: "Fiona..."
Fiona: "I'm just saying, we should start looking around the house or something. It'd be more productive than this."
Marcus: "I agree with her, Mr. Yang."
Jack: "I guess you guys are right."
The group made their way inside and found themselves in the study.
Jack: "We might as well start here."
Lyla: "What are we looking for exactly?"
Marcus: "Anything that can give us an idea of where we are and why?"
The group looked around the study. They picked off books from the shelves and studied the knick knacks around the room.
Fiona: "You think there would be a family photo or something around here."
Jack: "Whoever brought us here took extra care in leaving behind no traces."
Most of the group had focused their attention on the bookshelves. Diana noticed Fiona had her eye on the desk.
Fiona picked up a pen from the desk and stared at it for a good few seconds.
Diana: That's odd.
